Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive in Paro
Transfer to your riverfront lodge. Evening gear preparation and welcome briefing with your head guide.
Paro River – Introduction to Fly Fishing
Full day on the Paro River learning casting techniques. Focus on brown trout in gentle runs and pools. Catch-and-release practice.
Paro to Thimphu – Wang Chu River
Drive to Thimphu and fish the Wang Chu in the afternoon. Target snow trout in faster riffles. Overnight in Thimphu.
Thimphu to Punakha – Mo Chu & Pho Chu
Scenic drive over Dochula Pass. Afternoon fishing on the Mo Chu (Mother River) and Pho Chu (Father River). Stay in a charming lodge overlooking the rice terraces.
Full Day – Punakha Waters
Explore remote stretches of the Punakha valley. Wading through pristine pools and targeting larger trout. Picnic lunch by the river.
Punakha to Wangdue Phodrang
Drive to the wilder waters of Wangdue. Fish the Dang Chu, known for its remote beauty and excellent trout habitat. Camp overnight.
Return to Paro – Farewell Dinner
Morning fishing session on the way back. Afternoon at leisure. Farewell dinner with local cuisine and stories around the fire.
Depart from Paro
Transfer to Paro International Airport. Take home memories of quiet rivers, majestic peaks, and the thrill of the catch.
